This 9th film franchise of X-Men tells a story about Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

This film is directed by Bryan Singer who has directed X-Men movie franchise 4th times since 2000. This film opens in Egypt, showing how Apocalypse is worshiped like a God. The movie starts with how grandeur Egypt at that era mixed with good scoring by John Ottman. Sets on the 80’s, this new X-Men film will give some new faces. Starting from young Jean Grey to young Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler. Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Lucas Till are back represents their role while Sophie Turner is chosen to play the young Jean Grey/Phoenix, Kodi Smit-Mcphee as young Nightcrawler, Tye Sheridan as young Cyclops, Alexandra Shipps as young Storm, Olivia Munn as Psylocke while the main villain Apocalypse is played by Oscar Isaac and Hugh Jackman made a cameo appearance in this film that will kinda gives us a hint for his next stand-alone film. This film gives a very good performance from James McAvoy who represents his role as Professor X since 2011.

This film still uses the same plot X-Men movie franchise has uses all the time ‘mutants are an outcast’. Despite the same plot we have watched this many years, this film actually become one of the best X-Men film so far. You’ll see how young Jean Grey deal with her powers since young age and how Cyclops first met her and how Nightcrawler is rescued by Mystique in a nightclub and also the sad story about Magneto’s past life. This film also gives a comedy touch with Quicksilver played by Evan Peters with his superpower speed that makes the audience laugh. This film will gives you different kind of action. There’s no such thing as action just for the sake of action, but something so much more meaningful in every single frame and this film brings a really strong message behind it “you can only fight your biggest enemy from the inside.” Hopefully, after this film, there’ll be more action films with real message behind it. Believe me, you’ll think more about life after watching this film and one thing for sure, you’ll be inspired!  (Anna-Rose)
