Adapted from the famous novel written by Jojo Moyes. This 110 minutes film is the debut feature film for Thea Sharrock whom before known for directing plays. Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) took the role as Louisa Clark the new cheerful, chatty, loveable character that people never seen. And she actually nailed it! Bring new color in the history of romance film in Hollywood. While Will Traynor, played by the handsome charismatic Sam Claflin who are famous for his role in Love, Rosie alongside Lily Coliins and as Finnick in The Hunger Games franchise alongside award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence. Sam Claflin could be the next ‘it’ romantic stars if he just focusing on playing romantic films. These two gives an amazing chemistry that could make people melt. Mixed with romantic soundtrack from Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons make this film even more wonderful!. Praised for Thea Sharrock for her debut and can’t wait what’s next from her.
The script is well-written and everything just flows. You won’t realized that the film is ending. Everything’s perfect, blend with beautiful shots from cinematographer, Remi Adefarasin.

Now, enough with all the praises.
The ending is NOT good.
Since the first second of the film we hoped Lou will be able to convinced Will. But, she doesn’t! And even from the novel already written that way, but this shows how selfish Will is and that’s quite a heartbreak. While The international disability community heavily protested this film. And this film became the first film to be protested by them. Celebrities with disabilities even protested this film saying that this film gives the audience messages about how people with disabilities are a burden for their family and society.
Despite the controversy, this film grossed $200 million (and still growing) just with the budget of $20 million!
If you are curious with how’s Lou life would be you can buy the sequel novel of Me Before You called After You written by Jojo Meyers and will be released on 24th of September this year! And for its sequel movie, no news yet but see in how enthusiastic the fan is with the first film, it’s just a matter of time before Warner Bros. announce it’s sequel movie and if there is, hope Sam will make his portion.
At last, this film is one of the best romantic film of the year!
And one quote from the movie that will make your day, “You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.” (Anna Rose)
