Rima Irani Won Best Film in IFFPIE 2016

International Film Festival for Peace, Inspiration and Equality (IFFPIE) announce its Best Film. Forgiveness from Lebanon directed by Rim Irani took the title. The film tells a story about a woman who went to a psychiatry to heal her soul. This movie focused on the mind of the woman in fighting her miserable pas, to overcome her wounded soul and start a new life.

The reason for this experimental short film to become the Best Film is the ability of the director to combine painting technique to represent the mind of the woman. This film is expected to become a therapeutic cinematic art for the audience.

Damien Dematra as the founder and the director of the festival said that , “The winning of Forgiveness as the Overall Winner of IFFPIE not just create a new history for the festival that has been running for 5 years that finally we have a women winner and this also shows film is the best bridge for us to make peace with ourselves,” said the man with the long hair.

The announcement was made in Manggala Wanabakti building, on the Awards Ceremony of International Film Festival celebrating International Day of Peace and was attended by Minister of Environment and Forestry; Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Minister of Communication and Information; Rudiantara, Minister of Public Works and Housing; Basuki Hadimuljono, Lily Wahid, The King and Queens from all over Indonesia, United Nation represantion, Filmmakers from various parts of the world, local actresses and actors, activists and artists.

Filmmakers that came to this glorious event is Tony Gonzalez (USA), Oxana Chi (Germany), Dooa Alashgar (Yordania), Rima Irani (Lebanon), Shinya Watanabe (Jepang), Orlando Torres Osorio (Chile), Hiromi Takagi dan Izumi Suzuki dari Jepang, Leonid Vayn (USA), Pål Brekke (Norwegia), Maite Ruiz de Austri (Spain), Carlos Sargedas (Portugal), Laurie dan Michael Jaffe (Amerika Serikat), Rahim Toffan (Iran), Andres Garrigo (Spain), Cheryl Halpern (USA), dan Jackie Guzda (USA).

This festival is working together with other international film festival; International Film Competition, World Humanitarian Awards, International Tourism Awards dan Documentary & Short International Movie Award.

This festival is supported by People’s Creative Council, The Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Russian Culture Centre, World Film Council, i-Hebat International Volunteers, Radio Republic of Indonesia (RRI).
