International
Film Festival For Environment, Health & Culture (IFFEHC) is back in
Jakarta and the nomination for Best Film 2016 is announced today.
This year, almost 400 films for all around the world are
participating. The festival is focusing on films with Environment,
Health and Culture theme.Here are the IFFEHC nomination for Best
Film:
Brussels, the Wild Side, directed by Bernard Crutzen
HOME, directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand
My Name is Salt, directed by Farida Pacha
Ruben, directed by Frederik Wolff Teglhus & Anders Drud
Jordan
A Knee Up, directed by Jeremy Kagan
HOME directed by a French director, Yann Arthus-Betrand is
a documentary film that some say ‘a film that changed the world’.
This film has changed a lot of people to care more about the
environment. Narrated by the director with Hollywood actress; Salma
Hayek, Academy-award 6th nominations actress; Glenn Close, Jacques
Gamblin and China actress; Zhou Xun.
Home is in a strong competition with film directed by
Jeremy Kagan, A Knee Up. Jeremy Kagan is one of the directors
in Directors Guild of America and his film A Knee Up is a
short film that tells a story about a man in pain, being confronted
by his family. The other candidates are Ruben by directors
Frederik Wolff Teglhus & Anders Drud Jordan. The winner of this
festival will be announced on 30th of May 2016
Damien Dematra, as the founder and director of the international
film festival said that, “I hope with this festival, it can creates
more awareness to all the people in the world about how important to
take care of our environment. I also hope this festival can be a
platform for the people who want to make a change through creative
works.”
This festival is being supported by People's Creative Council,
i-Hebat International Volunteers, Russian Culture Centre, Care for
Children Foundation, World Film Council and the Ministry of
Environment and Forestry. |
